Start the day with surf school, picnic around the corner at Lyons Park and explore Goodenia RainforestKnown for its laid back vibe, Pambula Beach and Pambula township get their names from the Yuin word for ‘two waters’. The two meet in the wetlands, Panboola, a sanctuary that begins just beyond the main street.
Start the day with a surf at Pambula Beach, have a picnic around the corner at Lyons Park and beach, then head over to Yurammie in South East Forests National Parks to explore Goodenia Rainforest.
Pambula is big in history, its peaceful lakes and idyllic river mouth fair quieter than the hustle and bustle steam boat driven economy of gold, farming and oysters it once was. Shopfronts give a nod to that era, with bull-nose verandahs, a town clock and a general lack of tall neon signs. Look for artisans within.
